Summer School is in Session!
Mark from Summer School Electronics is back at Fretboard Summit to offer a small build your own pedal class at Fretboard Summit 2026 in Chicago. Have you always been interested in how to build effects pedals, but been intimidated to try it yourself? Or have you built a pedal or two and love the experience or playing something you’ve made? Well, this class provides all the necessary tools, parts and an instructor who is both a pedal builder and teacher! By the end of this class session, you will walk away with your own working overdrive/distortion pedal (Thursday Beginner Class), or a tremolo pedal (Friday Advanced Class) and a new skill set. Whether you're brand new to the world of DIY building or have a few pedal builds under your belt as a hobbyist, this class will be a fun group activity and Mark will be available to answer all your questions about, building, modding, sourcing parts, or whatever else you can think of. Space is limited, so sign up early!
This is an in-person event only, that will take place Thursday August 20th and Friday August 21st at the Old Town School of Folk Music in Chicago as part of Fretboard Summit.
